SAFE FAMILIES OF HOPE

HCOD has been instrumental in supporting the safety of families in our neighborhood. This is implemented through the distribution of free smoke detectors and free light bulbs to area residents to encourage both interior and exterior residential home safety.

Jefferson East Neighborhood Community Surveillance Patrol
Being a partner of the Jefferson East Safety Patrol Collaboration has empowered Hope’s community through volunteer and paid safety patrol of the homes, churches and businesses in the southeastern region of Detroit.  The safety patrol covers the boundaries of Conner Ave., The Detroit River, Alter Rd. and E. Jefferson.  This collaboration partners with other area organizations, (i.e. Jefferson East Business Association, Creekside CDC, Jefferson-Chalmers CDC, Southeast Waterfront Neighborhood Association, neighborhood block clubs, etc.).
